4 Landscaping Tips for Tahoe Keys Sellers

If you are looking to sell your Tahoe Keys home, you’ve probably heard a thing or two about the importance of curb appeal.  If you think about it, it is the first impression when a potential buyer drives up to your house. If the outside is in need of some serious help, now is the time to do it. While you may have other things that need to be repaired or upgraded before you sell, don’t completely forget about the landscaping. Adding this in to the marketing budget is important and while it may feel overwhelming, you can do a few things that will spruce up the place and not spend an arm and a leg at the same time.

The best part is you can do some of the work yourself so if you have to hire a professional to landscape some of your yard, you can save them for the most important tasks you can’t do on your own. Or don’t want to!

1. Cut and weed. If you mow your own lawn, stay up on it every week and get rid of those weeds. Either pull them or spray them, but just make sure they are removed. It seems like such a little task, but it goes a long way and is more pleasing on the eyes.

2. Ditch anything dead.  Whether you have flowers, trees or leaves that are dead, get rid of them. These do nothing in the marketing of your Tahoe Keys home for sale. You may have some areas left over that look a little sparse and that is ok. Fill in with some potted plants, new flowers, a small bush or some yard art. Keep the yard art tactful and classy though.

3. Don’t forget about the hardscape. If you want to add a little something extra to the flowers and plants, consider some decorative stone, bricks or tile. If you have some walkway that needs repairing, or a driveway that needs to be repaved, now is the time.

4. Light the way to your Tahoe Keys home for sale. When people think of landscape lighting, they most likely see dollar signs. It really doesn’t have to be expensive though and there are endless opportunities. You can line the walk way with some inexpensive lanterns. You can add decorative lighting on each side of the front door, which is not only attractive, but also provides a little extra security.
